The short version
Be a decent person, share your collection, help other people find cards. Don't post anything illegal, don't harass anyone, and don't try to scam people. If you see something that breaks these rules, report it and we'll look at it.
Who can use Cardlist
You need to be at least 13 years old to create an account. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up to check this. We don't store it, we only record that you passed the check.
Selling features connect to eBay, and eBay has its own age requirement (18+) that you have to meet to sell there. Collecting, tracking, decks, and the social features are open to anyone 13 and over.
What's not allowed
Don't post, upload, or link to:
- Anything illegal, or content that promotes illegal activity
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or hate directed at a person or group
- Sexual content, or any content that sexualises minors
- Spam, scams, phishing, or misleading links
- Impersonation of another person, seller, or brand
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark
- Counterfeit, stolen, or misrepresented cards and goods
- Malware, or attempts to break, probe, or abuse the service
This applies everywhere you can put content: your profile, showcase, decks, wishlists, notes, and anything that shows up in the activity feed.
Reporting something
Anywhere you see a profile, a post in the feed, a deck, or a wishlist card, there's a report option. You don't need an account to file a report. Pick a reason, tell us what's wrong, and confirm you believe the report is accurate. If you're signed out, we ask for your email so we can tell you what we decided.
Every report is logged and goes to our moderation team. We keep a record of it either way, whether we act on it or not.
How moderation works
Here's what happens after a report comes in:
- Report. Someone flags a profile, post, deck, or wishlist card.
- Review. A person on our team reads the report and looks at the content.
- Decision. We either dismiss it, warn the person, remove the content, or ban the account, depending on how serious it is.
- Reasons. If we remove your content, we email you what we removed, the rule or law it broke, and the facts we relied on.
- Appeal. If you think we got it wrong, you can reply to that email or write to us and we'll take another look.
When content is removed it stops showing to everyone else. You'll still see it on your own pages with a note explaining that it was removed, so you always know what happened to your account.
Warnings, removals, and bans
For a first or minor issue we'll usually warn you and explain what needs to change. For repeat problems or anything serious, we remove the content or ban the account. A ban signs you out and stops you signing back in. Bans can be permanent or time-limited.
If we find a credible sign that an account holder is under 13, we suspend and delete the account under our age policy.
Appeals
Every removal notice we send is a reply-to email. Reply to it, or write to [email protected] with your username and what you're appealing, and a person will review the decision. We read every appeal.
